These courses are designed to assist adults 17 years and older with math, reading, and writing skills
in preparation for taking and passing the GED exam. Instruction focuses on improving basic
skills, reading of science & social studies materials, as well as analytical and general study concepts.

Morning/Afternoon/Evening FREE
The GED exam is given at least once a month at CCI ( Career Collegiate Institute), 160 Edward
Street at Elmwood Avenue. The test is given on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (1 part -
Language Arts Writing) unless otherwise specified, and the following Thursdays from 5:00 pm to
9:00 pm (4 parts - Math, Science, Social Studies, & Language Arts Reading.) All candidates must
have 2 forms of I.D. (photo ID & Social Security card). A candidate under the age of 19 must
have a letter of verification before he/she can take the GED test. This would consist of the following:
a form or letter verifying that he/she is a student in an approved alternative education
program or that one complete year has passed since leaving school (a letter on school letterhead
indicating the last date attended must be attached to the application), or a form or letter verifying
he/she was a member of a class that has already graduated.
