About Us
The Adult Education Division (The Division) of the Buffalo Public School District is the premier education and workforce skills training provider in the Western New York region. With a comprehensive service offering GED test preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL) and Computer courses/classes, the Division offers FREE educational services either at one of its 35 sites, or via its home-based GED distance-learning program. Registration is ongoing throughout the year for anyone aged 17 or older. The Division also offers waived or reduced tuition for vocational training programs in the areas of Health Careers, Customer Service/Retail Sales, Building and Construction Skills training, etc. A comprehensive community education/leisure learning program is also offered in the evenings. Using an extensive partnership system with area colleges and community-service agencies such as the Father Belle Center, Buffalo Employment and Training Center (BETC), CAO Harvard, Response to Love Center, Edward Saunders Community Center, Gloria Parks Community Center, the YMCA, and the International Institute, the Division services over 6500 students per year.
