Council on Occupational Education (COE)

The Council on Occupational Education (COE) is a national association that provides accreditation services to postsecondary occupational education institutions. COE’s mission is “assuring quality and integrity in career and technical education.” Buffalo Public Schools Adult Education Division’s COE accredited Cosmetology, Barbering, and Nurse Aide Training programs validate the Division’s high quality and certify students’ academic achievement of career and technical education skills with portable credentials in specific program areas.

Students are able to take advantage of workforce training opportunities that offer alternatives to traditional college pathways. The Division’s COE accredited programs are available to BPS high school graduates, students in Adult Education Division’s literacy programs, and all adult residents in WNY seeking to improve or gain certifiable skills.
