Course Description: A 1st Class Stationary Engineer is the next step (Intermediate level) in the stationary engineering program. Many operators achieve their 1st Class Stationary Engineer License and remain at this level for their entire career as it is a non-management operator role. This licensing level allows the individual to operate a 299-horsepower boiler plant along with 299 tons of refrigeration. A 1st class license allows the operator to work alone but must still be supervised by a Chief Engineer.
Completion/Certificate: Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate of completion from the instructor. Upon successfully passing the city exam, students are then able to apply for the City License for 1st Class Stationary Engineer. Students will have the ability to seek employment in the field from various employers, apply for higher positions within their existing company as well as pursue a better employment opportunity with another employer.
