Course Description:This course provides a hands-on introduction to residential electrical systems, focusing on safety, code knowledge, and practical wiring skills. Students begin with basic electrical theory, safety practices, and tool use, then progress into understanding circuits, electrical calculations, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
As the course advances, participants gain experience in:
- Installing wiring, receptacles, panels, and circuit breakers
- Working with lighting systems, GFCI outlets, and small appliance circuits
- Understanding 240-volt systems, generators, and code requirements for kitchens and bathrooms
- Learning conduit work, outdoor electrical, and modern components like WiFi switches and smoke detectors
Completion/Certificate: The course concludes with residential wiring planning and permit requirements, preparing students for real-world electrical projects.
