High School Equivalency Prep
Classes & GED Testing
The Adult Education Division serves adults and out-of-school youth ages 17 and over who want to earn a New York State Education Department (NYSED) High School Equivalency diploma (HSE).  Distance learning and online courses are also available.  Students are required to attend a welcome and orientation session as part of the enrollment process.  For more information and to make an appointment, call (716) 888-7088 ext. 100.  All Western New York residents are welcome.
The Adult Education Division offers ESL classes for English Language Learners (ELL) who need to develop better skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students from all countries and at all skill levels are welcome to enroll. Classes range from beginning literacy through advanced level ESL classes that focus on vocabulary building, conversation practice and comprehension skills. All learners 21 and older are welcome.  Additional programs include Refugee Newcomer Classes; Work Experience – Custodial Training; and English for Academic Purposes.  For more information call (716) 887-3912 ext. 200.
Career Collegiate Institute / Youth
The Career Collegiate Institute (CCI), located in North Buffalo, is an educational program offered in collaboration with Erie Community College and designed for out-of-school youth between the ages of 17 and 21. CCI provides classroom instruction for earning a High School Equivalency diploma and then moving into post-secondary education or a career. Students engage in an intensive curriculum and are supported with mentoring, counseling special education services, and career & college exploration.  For more information about enrolling in the Career Collegiate Institute, call (716)888-7088, ext 100.
Community and Continuing Education
The Adult Education Division offers a wide variety of courses designed to provide students with the skills they need for advancement in their current fields or for new occupations.  Courses are designed to accommodate the growing training needs of business and industry and include steam engineering, welding, carpentry, residential electric, auto repair, and HVAC as well as several leisure learning programs.  For a complete list visit UpSkill.org or call (716) 888-7088 ext. 111.

Career and
Technical Education
Training programs are offered that prepare students for immediate employment in three occupational sectors:  Cosmetology, Barbering, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).   Class instruction includes both theory and practical experience.  Job placement assistance is available along with networking opportunities at various events.
